On Friday the 22nd of March, IOM organised its very first TandEM World Music Jam Session at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).
The purpose of the event was to get young people together in an evening of inter-cultural exchange, with music as the starting point. Young people were invited to bring their own music instruments and share the rhythms of their cultural backgrounds.
A total of 24 people attended the event, both third country nationals and local youth, including students at MCAST and at other higher education institutions in Malta. They jammed together, learnt more about project TandEM and engaged in conversations about the songs they hold dear to their hearts, their musical influences, their countries of origin, their lived experiences in Malta and much more.
Other moments of inter-cultural exchange will be promoted soon to keep this dialogue going, online and offline.
