Spring has finally arrived, second semester courses have recently started and students are crowding again university’s halls: it is the perfect time to organize a TandEM event! Three inter-religious meetings have been organized in Sapienza University last 9th and 11th April, counting on the participation of a number of interested and curious students from different faculties. The first meeting, a panel discussion, was dedicated to the importance of inter-religious co-existence and respect in Italy and Europe, with the intervention of Rome Chief Rabbi Riccardo Di Segni, Sister Elsa Antoniazzi (Ecumenism and Dialogue Dept, Bologna), Svamini Hamsananda Ghiri (Vice-President Italian Hindu Union) and Imam Yahya Pallavicini (President Islamic Italian religious Community). The link between migration flows and the development of “new” religious communities in our Countries was stressed, shedding light on recent episodes of intolerance and ethnic hatred and emphasizing the role of dialogue and mutual understanding. Professor Alessandro Saggioro, Stefano Tedeschi, Eugenio Testa and Antonello Folco Biagini (Sapienza University) joined the discussion. The panel discussion was then followed by 2 students workshops focused on health and migration and family (social, intra-family and inter-generational relationships). After a brief presentation of the topics by young facilitators from Coreis and Ugei (young Italian Jews union) students shared their ideas and experiences.

TandEM student committees from Sapienza University, Pisa University and L’Orientale University of Naples gathered in Rome for the occasion!
