Recognizing Southern European countries’ diversity and recent integration experience, TandEM: Towards Empowered Migrant Youth in Southern Europe is contributing in building cohesive societies, fostering the engagement of young third-country nationals (TCNs) and their Southern European peers in shaping inclusive communities in Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain. To achieve this, one of the key project activities in all program countries is represented by a social media and communication campaign to sensitize Southern European societies on project’s goals, while boosting youth participation in the discourse on migration and integration. The social media campaign, not only aims at promoting the project itself and its achievements (especially with regards to other project activities, like the regional study, the university mentoring programs and the inter-religious dialogues), but wants also to support the project in achieving its overarching goal of empowering migrant youth and their Southern European peers to change the narrative on migration, emphasizing youth diverse forms of identification and expression. In fact, young people between 15 and 29 years old will be both the target of social media activities and campaigners themselves. The campaign wants to convey a message of inclusion and equality, focusing on the positive impact of multiculturalism, while making young migrants active agents in shaping the narrative on migration.
